From the very beginning of Vecta Environmental Services, industrial tank cleaning has been at the core of who we are and what we do. Our President and founder is a third-generation tank cleaner, and we take great pride in our ability to provide the safest, most cost-effective tank cleaning services in the industry.
Safety in Tank Cleaning
Employee safety is always the top priority for Vecta, and there is no time or place where this focus is more critical than when we are performing Confined-Space Entry (CSE). All our personnel are OSHA 40-hour trained, and certified in CSE. Our staff includes API certified Tank Entry Supervisors, and we have our own trained CSE Rescue Teams. Through the implementation of our safety policies, and a rigorous training program, Vecta’s safety performance continues to exceed industry standards.
Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Cleaning
Cleaning everything from 50-gallon process vessels to bulk storage tanks containing millions of gallons of product, Vecta continues to establish itself as a leader in the tank cleaning industry. Combining years of experience with the latest advances in tank cleaning technology, we are confident in our ability to handle any of our clients’ tank cleaning needs.
- Bulk Storage Tank Terminals
- Vecta was started to service a small tank terminal in Louisiana, so these facilities are near and dear to our hearts. Tank terminals store and distribute a variety of chemicals, and each tank presents its own challenges. Sometimes this means the chemical hazards are so great that the tanks are cleaned using fully-encapsulating Level A protection. Other times it means mechanical means, such as man way cannons and robots, are required. Vecta still enjoys our relationship with our first client, and are fortunate to now service bulk storage tank terminals throughout the Gulf South.
- Refineries
- Tank cleaning activities associated with the production, refining, and distribution of petroleum products presents a unique set of challenges. Product operating conditions, storage capacities, and specific design issues can affect the tank selection process. Volume and construction of the tank will vary greatly and may range from a small bolted tank to multi-million-gallon welded tanks. Fixed roof tanks, often used for high flashpoint, less volatile liquids, often require scaffolding to effectively clean. Floating roof tanks, typical for volatile, low-flashpoint liquids, often have minimal access and limited mobility for tank entry crews.
- Food and Drug Industries
- Special handling considerations are required for all operations involving the food and drug industries, and Vecta has worked with food processors and drug manufacturers to develop cleaning processes to meet these stringent standards. We have cleaned tanks to meet the “fit and proper” kosher standards, and we have prepared tanks for the production of some of the most widely-used vitamins in the United States.
Underground Storage Tank (UST) Cleaning
Underground storage tanks are widely used throughout the United States, primarily for refined petroleum products. The installation, maintenance, and removal of these tanks are regulated by the federal government, so the selection of a qualified contractor is an important consideration for all UST operators. Whether your tank has leaked and needs to be removed, or the fuel has become fouled and your system shut down, Vecta has the people and equipment to address all of your UST concerns.
Product Recovery and Waste Minimization
Often, one of the most expensive and time-consuming aspects of a tank cleaning project is the transportation and disposal of waste. Countless man-hours can be spent trying to sample, analyze, and profile waste for shipment, and countless dollars are spent to make sure the material is disposed of in the most environmentally responsible manner.
Vecta’s management team makes every effort to reduce the time and money spent by looking for secondary options for the materials generated during tank cleaning activities. These options include reducing the volume of waste, on-site treatment to mitigate hazards, and even identifying secondary users of the product. By examining every option, Vecta can not only reduce time and money spent but can often turn these costs into revenue by re-selling valuable products.
